GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Required Courses
There are 22 credits required for graduation. The 22 credits consist of core curriculum class credits, specific path (university or technical) requirement class credits & elective class credits. All students must take a minimum of 6 classes per day. The maximum number of classes available per day is 7. It is recommended that freshman students take a Study Hall. All students must score "Proficient" on the following Gateway Exams: Language Arts (English II), Mathematics (Algebra I), & Science (Biology I).

CORE CURRICULUM - (**see more information below**)
English (Regular or Honors) 4 credits
Math * 3 credits
Science ** 3 credits
Social Studies *** 3 credits
Wellness (Health/Physical Education) 1 credit
Computer (Keyboarding/Document Formatting) 1 credit
TOTAL 15 credits

*Math Requirements: All students must complete Alegbra I or equivalent. Students who enter high school in 2005-2006 and later must also complete one of the following: Geometry, Algebra II, or Technical Geometry.

**Science Requirements: All students must complete Biology I or equivalent and one course in the physical sciences (Physical Science or Chemistry I).

***Social Studies Requirement: All students must complete Economics (0.5 cr.), U.S. Government (0.5 cr.), U.S. History, and World Geography or World History.


In addition to the core requirements listed above, each student must also choose one of the three paths listed below.

UNIVERSITY PATH
Core Curriculum* 15 credits
Foreign Language* 2 credits of the same language
Fine Arts(Art, Drama, Dance, Band, Vocal) 1 credit
Electives 4 credits
TOTAL 22 credits

*University path students must take Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry or another advanced course. Chemistry I is also recommended.

TECHNICAL PATH
Core Curriculum 15 credits
Technical Program of Study (Cluster)* 4 credits (might include core computer cl.)
Electives 3 credits
TOTAL 22 credits

*Technical Program of Study (Clusters) include Agricultural Education, Business Technology, Health Science Education, Family & Consumer Science, Welding and Construction Technology, Automotive and Transportation Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Marketing Education, and Process Control Technology.

Students on the DUAL PATH must meet the University Path requirements plus 4 elective credits must be in a Technical Program of Study or Cluster.
