TENNESSEE SCHOLARS PROGRAM
This program has been put into place to increase the percentage of students graduating from high school with a rigorous, defined academic course of study sufficient to prepare them for higher education, the workplace, or the military. The required high school courses are as follows:

4 credits in English
4 credits in Math (Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry and one higher math)
3 credits in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics-Recommended and Preferred)
3 credits in Social Studies
1 credit in Wellness
1 credit in a Fine Arts Class (Art, Drama, Vocal Music, Dance)
1 credit in Computer and/or Keyboarding class
2 credits in the same Foreign Language
2 credits in the same Career/Technical Education Cluster (The computer class may count as one of the credits)
* 1 credit more is required at WCHS to meet our 22-credit minimum.

Additionally students must meet theese expectations.
95% attendance each year
No out of school suspensions each year
Successful completion of required exit and gateway exams
20 hours of community service (form to be completed, see school counselor)
Maintain a "C" average (2.0 GPA)

The students who complete this program will be recognized their senior year and Tennessee Scholar will be stamped on their permanent record

To be an "Honors Student" upon graduation, one must complete the requirements for one of the three paths and maintain at least a 3.35 cumulative grade point average.

To join the Technical Honor Society and be recognized upon graduation, one must complete the Dual or Technical Path for graduation, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and a vocational grade point average of 3.35.

A "Certificate of Attendance" or "Diploma of Special Education" must be awarded to a student who does not complete the regular graduation requirements.

Students who transfer from a school on block scheduling must meet the following graduation requirements:
1 Year Block/ 3 Year Tradional..........23 credits
2 Year Block/ 2 Year Tradional..........24 credits
3 Year Block/ 1 Year Tradional..........25 credits
